SANDY KINNEE

Sandy Kinnee lives and works in Colorado Springs.  Kinnee was born in Port Huron, MI. He received his BFA from the University of Michigan in 1969 and MFA from Wayne State University in 1976. Sandy Kinnee is a two-time Pollock-Krasner Foundation grantee.

He is best known for his kimono and fan shaped, handmade paper pieces. The Museum of Modern Art, in New York included his work in exhibitions in 1976 and 1980. 

Kinnee’s works  are represented in numerous public and private collections including Metropolitan Museum Art, New York City; The Brooklyn Museum; Ohio State Office Building, Columbus, Ohio; Evergreen State College, Olympia, Washington; New Mexico Museum, Santa Fe, New Mexico; Portland (Oregon) Art Museum;  Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, Wisconsin; University of Michigan Museum of Art, Ann Arbor, Michigan; Princeton Museum of Art, Princeton University; Colorado College, Colorado Springs, Colorado; DenverUniversity, Denver, Colorado; Pikes Peak State College, and others
