BILL AMUNDSON

BILL AMUNDSON

BILL AMUNDSON

Bill Amundson draws upon the unpredictable and erratic conditions of contemporary life for inspiration in creating his detailed pencil drawings. Modern culture is reflected in his humorous portraits, landscapes, and interiors by means of familiar political and celebrity figures, chain restaurants and box stores, and well known brands. He also enjoys incorporating indirect references to art history into his drawings.

A Wisconsin native, Amundson earned his bachelor’s degree in art from UW-Madison and made a name for himself as an artist while living in Colorado for 35 years.

Drawings by Amundson have been exhibited throughout the U.S. and Canada, including solo shows in New York City, Philadelphia, Toronto, Los Angeles, Austin, San Antonio, Phoenix, Colorado Springs, and Denver. The permanent collections of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, the University of Colorado Art Museum, and the Denver Art Museum include pieces of his artwork.

RICHARD CARTER

RICHARD CARTER

RICHARD CARTER

Richard Carter’s 50 year career has been guided by intense curiosity, a drive to master his craft and intriguing themes that captivate him and ultimately define his bodies of work. Carter’s unique interpretation of modernist painting and design was broadened by the early years he spent as Herbert Bayer’s studio assistant. His creativity has typically (though not always) come to life through unique geometric abstractions centered on fully developed concepts and philosophies.

Originally from New Jersey, Carter has lived in Aspen Colorado for over five decades. He has exhibited in the Denver Art Museum, the Institute of Contemporary Art LA, The Aspen Art Museum, the Aspen Institute (Aspen and Berlin), the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, Aurora Arts Center, and the Santa Monica Museum. Carter’s paintings are in a number of these institutions’ permanent collections and he has been represented by galleries across the U.S. In March 2022, he was honored by the Colorado Business Council for the Arts with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his constant dedication to enriching lives and communities with cultural activism. He works daily in his studio in Basalt, Colorado.
